DESCRIPTION

The Senior Analyst, Accounting Systems, is focused on financial systems administration, leading and participating in financial systems projects, providing technical, configuration, & coding expertise, performing analysis, and mentoring associates. This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience and uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business processes to improve products or services.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • System Administration, Technical Expertise, Analysis, Configuring, and Coding

  • Leverage technical expertise to drive the overall configuration architecture and technical solutions’ design for the client’s financial systems. Responsible for the design, configuration, and system administration. These systems include: PeopleSoft (GL, Security, Workflow, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable), Coupa (Procurement, Invoicing, Budgets, Analytics, SIM), and/or other proprietary systems.

  • Drive detailed solution design ensuring both innovation and alignment to the client’s current business needs and strategic vision for business models & capabilities and end-to-end business processes, while supporting data quality.

  • Act as a liaison between Accounting, IT and other Home Office departments by identifying their concerns, performing root cause analysis, recommending and implementing solutions to address their concerns by leveraging subject matter expertise and knowledge of Financial Systems administration.

  • Maintain positive relationships and be a role model for exceptional customer service, teamwork, and communication.

  • Responsible for educating fellow analysts and Business Partners on new functionality releases/updates/upgrades and technology enhancements.

  • Responsible for recommending and implementing solutions to address concerns by leveraging experience and knowledge of financial systems administration and technical expertise.

  • Provide technical insight and influence others with recommendations when faced with decisions to ensure Financial System’s configuration and training supports compliance, policy changes and the needs of the business. Periodically present recommendations to Sr. Leadership.

  • Leverage technical expertise to develop code and/or configure within PeopleTools, Middleware, VBA, SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Teradata, etc.

  • Initiate, design & develop process improvements and automation (via Blue Prism Robotics Process Automation, reporting, databases, middleware, PeopleTools etc).

  • Translate business requirements into complex reporting solutions using Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Crystal, XML Publisher, Tableau, etc.

  • Provide troubleshooting as it relates to complex system administration and providing third tier or higher support for the client’s financial systems, in PeopleSoft, PeopleTools, Coupa, Middleware Automation tools (Blue Prism Robotics Process Automation, Foxtrot), VBA, SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Teradata, etc.)

  • Assist in the development and creation of change management tools related to the use of the client’s financial systems. This includes any training, communication tools, and reference guides as needed.

 

PROJECT LEADERSHIP:

  • Lead and manage team’s analysts on all technical aspects, directing and/or delivering all design, configuration and testing activities, for assigned financial systems projects to ensure high quality implementations. Projects may include but are not limited to system upgrades, implementations and process automation.

  • Create project plan and lead assigned resources to execute the plan when serving as the tactical project owner or strategic project track owner.

  • Partner with end users across teams to define requirements, interpret/translate them into functional and non-functional requirements and process flows.

  • Use business and technical knowledge to make recommendations to improve the Business Partner’s system experience and processes; influence Business Partners and Management, and champion change.

  • Develop comprehensive configuration and testing strategy.

  • Provide direction and delegate project responsibilities to assigned team resources, including: creating test plans and perform testing with developers and business partners; and future state process mapping and training documentation to ensure overall functionality and technical quality of deliverables. Deliver artifacts when required.

  • Lead technical aspects of data migration and/or cutover activities; serve as the team’s point person for system upgrades and implementations.

  • Associate Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop less experienced analysts using technical expertise, best practice experience, and place focus on priorities.

  • Train and mentor business partners on system related issues, changes to processes, system upgrades and system implementations

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Motivate and lead effectively and drive for results in challenging conditions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization, and collaborate with other departments and teams

  • Determine customer-specific needs and put forth actions to meet those needs

  • Prioritize to achieve long-term and short-term results

  • Develop, execute, and meet deadlines and/or adjust a plan with high degree of independence and still deliver on the objectives

  • Develop and initiate process improvements and champion change

  • Understand latest industry trends and their potential impact for the client

  • Train, develop and mentor other associates, including providing guidance on elevated support issues

  • Deliver on objectives and meet deadlines with project parameters.

  • Clearly define and document system requirements and end user training

  • Provide after-hours support during peak times

  • 5 + years of relevant experience in implementing, administration, design, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment in large-scale enterprise-wide ERP Financial Systems, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash systems, and/or Account Reconciliation software. Examples include PeopleSoft (preferred), Coupa (preferred), Workiva (preferred), CoStar (preferred), Oracle, SAP, Siebel, NetSuite, Kenandy, Rootstock, Financial Force, MS Dynamics AX, MS Dynamics GP, MS Dynamics 365, Ariba, High Radius, Trintech, and Blackline.

  • System Experience should preferably be in User Application Security, Workflow, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and Asset Management.

  • Experience supporting both SaaS and Hosted solutions (preferred)

  • PeopleTools development experience preferred including Excel to CI, Query, AppDesigner, and PeopleSoft tracing

  • SQL and VBA coding preferred (used in Access, Teradata, Excel, SQL Server, Oracle SQL developer)

  • PeopleSoft upgrade/implementation experience preferred

  • Process automation using Middleware preferred. This includes Blue Prism Robotics Process Automation and Foxtrot.

  • Experience developing reports in one of the following reporting tools preferred: Microsoft Reporting Services 2005/2008, XML Publisher, Crystal Reports, Tableau

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience required

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills

  • Understanding of accounting principles and SOX controls preferred

  • Two or more years of experience providing technical leadership on large initiatives or systems implementations

  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access (including VBA), Proficiency in SQL query language preferred
