DESCRIPTION:
Acts as the primary consultant between various business units in order to review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Job Function:
Uses advanced knowledge of company technology and business processes to identify opportunities to further leverage the technology within the business.
Define, implement, and provide business analysis for existing and emerging technology, including requirement gathering and technical design documentation as well as support business, process mapping and management, and other related activities.
Develop and solicit approval of SDLC documentation, and act as the subject matter expert for business partners on SDLC process.
Participates in the development and management of project plans related to the application development initiatives.
Provide platform and consulting support for IT Systems and business customers across multiple IT platforms and domains.
Reviews team's requirements, specifications, test documentation, implementation, support, training and maintenance plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects.
Serve as a subject matter expert for system applications and have a detailed understanding of application functionality, system design and file structures.
Use IT knowledge and PC software application skills to complete detailed design specifications for development teams.
Serve as a subject matter expert for internal / external customers
Identifies opportunities for improvement in processes and procedures used by the Business Analyst team.
Develop and solicit approval of SDLC documentation, and educates business partners on SDLC process.
Educate project team on the impact of proposed changes while managing the change control process.
Proactively identify and make recommendations to process improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related discipline or combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of quantitative and statistical analysis
Equivalent combination of education and experience:
5-8 Years' experience in Business Systems Analysis
2 Years' experience in Development experience in data movement and database design
2 Years' experience in Project Management
2 Years' experience in Software Development
Outstanding negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills
METHODOLOGIES
Business Process Management Experience - Lean, Six Sigma
Strong understanding of marketing analytics and the e-commerce business (multiple perspective background a plus)
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies.
The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues
Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives.
Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and work flow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery
Strong situational analysis and decision making abilities
Strong understanding of the business intelligence domain and developing an enterprise roadmap for implementing/strengthening organizational adoption
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or related field
Project Management Experience - PMP Certification, Experience in both Waterfall and Agile
